Welcome to the Side (Freak) Show

I have always enjoyed Carnival Art. Brightly colored and sometimes garish depictions of bearded ladies, human porcupines and other entertainers lovingly named freaks by so called common folk.
This is mixed media on paper mounted on a wood panel. I had fun creating a 3D effect with the
lettering on the part that reads "side show", if you look close you can see the word "freak."

This piece is 13.5 inches square. I am looking to do many more in various sizes as I had a blast working on this.

NEW! Work on Wood Panel

It's rare that I find time on a Monday to paint. Monday's are usually set aside for organizing for the week ahead, working on rough sketches etc.,  It was about 8pm when I felt inspired enough to go back into the studio and dive into this. It's acrylic and ink on a 24 x 24 plywood panel.

A Jimmy Bob Adventure

Jimmy Bob has some good luck and he has some bad luck. He's just a regular guy
trying his best to get by and make some kinda sense out of this crazy world.
He doesn't plan on fishing again anytime soon.

New Art / Hand Lettering

Here are a couple new pieces plus my sign which I hand lettered.
I am starting to get back into typography again and there is a certain charm
and appeal to the hand lettered approach that really gets me excited. I am hoping I can land a project in the near future where I could utilize this.

NEW! Hand Drawn Original Peel 'n Stick Postcards

Many of my nights are spent doodling in my sketchbook. I came up with this idea while doodling and looking at a pile of bills. Doodling for money...makes sense.
The cool thing about these is that it can be peeled and stuck onto whatever...mirror, car bumper, guitar case, laptop...whatever floats your boat.
My display board photo came out kinda crappy due to the silver marker I use on some
of the designs but I think it's a pretty cool display board.

12 x 12 painted canvas / bold and fun!

As I mentioned in my previous post, I am busy working on pieces to be sold at my booth on the River Walk. I have five more of these in the works and am looking to expand onto painting skateboard decks and other usable . wearable items within the next couple weeks. These pieces are acrylic and ink on 12 x 12 canvas.
